My brother and sister in law left this morning. We were up at 6:20. I am not a morning person. We had coffee and Dave made omelettes and bacon and I made toast. They got on the road by 7:30, hoping they would make the 3 pm ferry to Victoria.
While they were here I took them kayaking down the lake and back. We spent a lot of time in the house talking and eating because it was too hot. Yesterday was a little cloudy but we were tired from trying to see the Northern lights the night before. They went to town a walked around Scout Island.
Well it 7 pm and I am exhausted. We worked on the forms. We went to town this morning. We went to our friend’s garage sale, Dave bought some welding wire.
I mowed the grass this afternoon, then I helped Dave put the tools away, then we tamped the ground around the rebar. I planted the grass seed on the dirt by the house. So I don’t think it will be long before we are in bed.
Woke up at 8:30. Dave was making breakfast and had made coffee. We went out and removed some more dirt from the excavation. I went and did some sewing and looked through some more slides of my dad’s. I had a whole big box, I went through some yesterday. I found some I had forgotten and lots that mean nothing because it is a mountain or trees.
Oh well tomorrow is another day. We talked to Dave daughter about our camping trip next month. We have a cabin right by a lake. Should great, 5 grandsons and two of Dave’s daughters. We visit with the other daughter at the end of the month. Great summer of family.
Well another busy day. Dave worked on the level for the room. I watered the garden and all my baskets.
This afternoon we took the fire pump down to the lake. We hooked up two hoses and got as far as our deck. We borrowed two hoses for Howie and we got to the garden. So I guess after we buy two more sections of hose we will be ready for the heat.
Dinner is noodles and sauce and bar b qued chicken. I am tired from walking up and down the hill rolling out hose. I could only use the quad so far then it was walking.
I had my 60th Birthday party. It didn’t go off with problems but everyone had a good time. The biggest surprise was that my daughter flew up from Vancouver for the night.
She came in the house, I thought it was my husband, I turned around and there she was. Then she said don’t cry or I’ll cry. I gave her a really big hug and cried in her shoulder. Thank you that was the best birthday present you could ever give me.
Well, I vacuumed the whole house, then I cleaned the livingroom carpet. Yesterday I power washed the deck and helped Dave putting thing in order for the party. I cleaned the carpet because we are having two sets of company. I wanted to get the heavy stuff done today because, I am going to town tomorrow for a birthday lunch and pick up remaining stuff for Tuesday.
We went to Chimney Lake to get some lumber for my room. Alvin looks the same as he did 20 years ago when we started building our addition and then our house. We got a post from Beaver Valley Feeds because we had the trailer on.
We got home and put in a new post for my Fuchsias they were starting to touch the ground.
I put the stuff away in the front porch, getting ready for company. We have a party and 2 sets of company.
Well it was a rainy cloudy day so we decided to go town. We have a list for my party. I had an arm load of stuff. I got to the last step and my ankle rounded. I fell and jammed both my knees. No, nothing broken just a sore knee on the left and a really sore knee on the right. Which is usual because since I was 17, I have had two torn ligaments from playing grass hockey and have dislocated it many times.
Dave made home made bar- b-que sauce and we bought stuff to make my cake and meat for the dinner.
I am going to take a lot of pain killers tonight which has nothing to do with Cancer.
Another sunny day. I spent this morning cutting and raking the long grass in the kennel. I raked up a whole wheelbarrow full. Then we had a break, after that I mowed the grass. I trimmed more of the bushes around the yard so I could get the ridding lawnmower closer.
Another sunshiny day in the cariboo. Dave got up and let the cat. I got up about 15 minutes later, and made coffee and toast.
We went outside after breakfast, I trimmed the bushes along the driveway. The bushes are getting so long they are scratching the cars. Dave mowed the grass around the yard. I raked up the trimmings and we burnt the bush in the incinerator.
I called my neighbor down below us. We went for a kayak paddle around the lake. We saw a huge bald eagle and a big Great Huron. We had a great paddle.
